To/From Detroit Metro Airport

ATTENTION!

Shuttle requests are NOT reviewed after business hours or on weekends. As such, all students who wish to utilize this service must complete the Airport Shuttle Request Form at least one week in advance of the travel date.

Airport Shuttle Info & Fees

The Office of Campus Safety contracts with Detroit Airport Town Cars to provide transportation to and from Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) on request, subject to the requirements and limitations listed below. The cost for this transportation is $100 each way, or $50 each way for students traveling together. Questions about this service should be emailed to csafety@albion.edu.

During the beginning and ending of semesters, every effort is made to group students together to reduce the cost to $50 per student.  Students may request to be grouped with other students to reduce the cost; however, this can result in students having to leave campus several hours before their flight is scheduled to depart and/or longer wait times at the airport until a scheduled pickup.

Students may receive a confirmation email from Detroit Airport Town Cars showing a different service fee. Students should retain the confirmation number but disregard the service fee listed in that email.

Arranging Transportation to and from Detroit Metro Airport

  • After you have made your flight arrangements, complete the Airport Shuttle Request Form using the button below, provide the required information, and click ‘submit’. After this information has been received, Campus Safety will contact you to confirm the arrangements for your transportation to or from the airport. This contact will be made within two business days your travel date.
  • You should receive a copy of your submitted request to the email you provided in the form.
  • No cash is needed you take the shuttle; the charge will be placed on your student account.
  • You are responsible for contacting Campus Safety as soon as possible if your plans change or you make other transportation arrangements. If you fail to do so, you may be charged for the cost of the shuttle.
  • The College is not responsible for costs incurred by students utilizing this service who miss flights due to inclement weather, traffic conditions, or poor planning.

Requirements and Limitations

  • Airport shuttles are only offered to currently enrolled Albion students.
  • Shuttles may be delayed or cancelled due to inclement weather, traffic conditions, or other circumstances. The College is not responsible for reimbursing students for costs associated with missed flights in these instances.
  • Shuttle availability is based on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Shuttles are not available for student organizations, classes, athletic teams, or other groups travelling to or from the airport.
  • Shuttles are not authorized to transport anyone who is not affiliated with Albion College (e.g. non-students, non-faculty, non-staff).
  • Emotional Support Animals are not permitted to be transported in shuttle vehicles.
  • Campus Safety does not arrange transportation to any other airports.
  • Please discuss all early arrival or after-hour check-in requests with the Office of Community Living (living@albion.edu) before completing the form.
