Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are volunteer, employee-led groups composed of professionals from across the College who come together based on shared interests, experiences and/or identities.  ERGs work to create a more inclusive environment and sense of belonging for employees within the College while also remaining engaged with external communities.  Human Resources is happy to support the following groups and welcomes the development of future groups to meet the needs of Albion’s diverse workforce.

BIPOC Network

BIPOC Network is a group of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color geared toward networking, retention, and support of BIPOC employees.  This group will aim to create an open and safe environment for BIPOC staff to meet and join in the work to create an inclusive culture of acceptance, dignity, and respect for all persons at Albion College.  The BIPOC Network will serve its members by helping to create an environment of equity and respect that attracts and values diverse individuals who are encouraged to contribute their perspectives to the overall success of an institution that stands in service to society.  The goal of the BIPOC Network is to continue to shape the conversation regarding diversity and inclusion affirming policies and procedures on the Albion College campus to create spaces for allies and partnerships.

Mission/Vision – BIPOC Network is a group of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who aim to help recruit and retain our BIPOC population while bridging the gap between staff and faculty.  Our goal is to create a safe space for staff and faculty and start conversations regarding diversity and inclusion to benefit our non-dominant population while working simultaneously with allies and partnerships to create job security and accountability for negative interactions, policies, and procedures at Albion College.
