Mathematics and Computer Science

Learn modeling, logic, and quantitative skills. Identify and analyze complex problems, and use what you learn to develop solutions.

Throughout history, mathematics and its algorithms have been used to improve the human condition. That process was accelerated in the 20th century when the development of computers dramatically and positively transformed the modern world. As a student of mathematics or computer science, you’ll be trained to consider how technology can improve lives–and then put your ideas to the test.

Our department offers programs in pure and applied mathematics, computer science, statistics, and data science. You’ll build your skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, modeling, and quantitative skills. You’ll then work to apply these concepts to other areas and disciplines to prepare you for your life after Albion.

You’ll graduate equipped with the skills, knowledge, and experience to build a successful career in some of the fastest-growing, in-demand, and lucrative fields of work worldwide. Our alumni frequently find success in business, industry, government, private consulting, and teaching, while others go on to pursue advanced study in areas such as public policy, management and operations research.
