How it Works

Estimate Program Costs Toggle Accordion

The cost of off-campus study varies by program. Albion’s approved list has a wide variety of affordable programs. The lower the cost on the program’s website, the lower the cost for you.

Find the cost of the program by going to the individual program’s website. They will provide an estimated budget that includes a breakdown of tuition, housing, and meal costs, plus estimates for airfare, personal expenses, passport/ visa fees, etc.  This is the amount you will pay for your semester abroad; you will not pay any additional Albion College tuition or housing costs.  You will pay a $500 OCP Administrative Fee to cover your insurance and Albion College’s administrative costs to run the study away program.

Meet with Cristen to complete the Study Away Financial Estimate form, and to get Financial Aid’s estimate of your federal aid.

Federal Financial Aid Toggle Accordion

Roger Landrum graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and membership in Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the Student Senate. On January 7, 1984 he married Virginia (Ginny) Blum. Originally appointed at Albion in 1984 as a faculty member in Political Science, Dr. Tunnicliff led the Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service from 1985 to 1999. Throughout his career, he worked to develop experiential and international educational experiences for college students. In 1988 he directed Albion College’s Great Lakes Jerusalem Program, spending a semester in Jordan, Israel, and Palestine with students.

Dedicated to the vibrancy of the political process, Tunnicliff served on Albion’s City Council from 1994-99 and served as mayor from 1997-99. He involved a number of his “Fordies” as his campaign staff during a run for the U.S. House of Representatives in Michigan’s 7th District, narrowly losing to an incumbent candidate.

Tunnicliff left Albion to become vice president of the Associated Colleges of the Midwest. He later served as Director of International Programs and Associate Professor of Political Science at Augustana College from 2007 to 2010 and then joined the College of Wooster in 2010. The quintessential professor, complete with a pipe, an acerbic sense of humor, and an always-open door for the students he tirelessly mentored, Tunnicliff was also highly regarded by his academic colleagues both at Albion and beyond. His passionate belief in public service brought the level of opportunities for Ford Institute students to new heights that have carried them forward to leadership positions all over the globe.
