Amenities and Residential Support

While our communities offer a variety of ways to engage student preferences, different room configurations and learning opportunities, there are a variety of additional programs and amenities offered in the residential experience.

Residence Hall Amenities

Community Assistants Toggle Accordion

Community Assistants (CAs) are dedicated student leaders who have pursued responsibility for community building efforts in our residential communities. Located throughout each major residence hall and select small communities, CAs can offer insight into the student experience, help facilitate relationships between roommates, provide in-hall programmatic opportunities, and first-level crisis support.

Kitchenettes Toggle Accordion

Each of our residence halls has a fully equipped central kitchenette available for student use. Equipment can be borrowed at front desks.

Game Lounges Toggle Accordion

The four large residence halls have a variety of recreation lounges and study room configurations. At the front desk, you can check-out board games, pool cues. Many residential programs are held in these spaces by the CA team.

Computer Labs Toggle Accordion

Residence Halls are equipped with a computer lab and printing capability in a central location. Students receive printing credits each semester to provide some free printing.

Laundry Facilities Toggle Accordion

All laundry facilities are free to student residents in College-owned housing. Machines are managed through partnership between Albion College Facilities Operations and a third-party vendor.

Each machine has a unique “ID” number–if you encounter any problems with laundry machines, we ask that you submit a work order and include this machine ID for easier identification by our Facilities team.

Find the location of your laundry facilities on your building’s information page.

Fire Pits Toggle Accordion

Gas fire pits are located throughout campus and can be reserved by student organizations and groups of residents for use. To reserve a fire pit, please connect with your Area Coordinator, who will help you navigate the registration process.

Campus Amenities and Services

Bicycle Storage Toggle Accordion

This new program began in Spring 2023 in partnership with the Sustainability Intentional Learning Community.

Stored in a secure location on campus, by registering your bike and participating in the storage program, we hope to make your cycling commitments easier, and to lessen the impact of automotive vehicles on our campus footprint and the environment.

Homeowners/Renters Insurance Toggle Accordion

Albion College does not insure personal effects of students. Therefore it is recommended that students insure their belongings either through the parents’ homeowner policy or a separate policy. Albion College does not assume responsibility for theft, loss, or damage to students’ personal property. It is recommended that students label all personal items and record serial numbers.

Linen Program Toggle Accordion

Albion has partnered with Dormify.com for several years to provide our students and families with a convenient, affordable way to ensure you have everything you need for life on campus. The extra long sheets and bedding products are guaranteed to fit all of the beds on campus, and there are matching towels and even storage items available to help make the transition to college life easier.

Community Living receives proceeds from every order placed through this program. Parents and students who have taken advantage of this opportunity in previous years recommend placing your order early, since popular colors and patterns can sell out quickly. View options at Dormify.com.
