Albion College alumni share personal stories during Brit Talks Sept 29

Four Albion College alumni will share their inspiring stories about meaning and value in their work and personal lives at the annual Brit Talks

Four Albion College alumni will share their inspiring stories about meaning and value in their work and personal lives at the annual Brit Talks Friday, Sept. 29 from 3-5 p.m. in Norris 101.

The event is part of Albion College’s Homecoming and is free and open to the public.

This year’s speakers include:

  • Jim Anderson, ’83

    The current General Manager of Tanger Outlets in Fort Worth, Texas, Anderson has had a long and distinguished career in marketing at various businesses. The former vice president for EQ Office (Willis Tower), Anderson was instrumental in the company’s $500 million makeover.

  • Tony Harris, ’87

    Following his graduation from Albion, Harris served in several capacities at Starr Commonwealth schools, both in Albion and Detroit. In 2022, he retired as an educational leader after 32 years. He has served as an athletic director, assistant high school principal, high school principal and elementary school principal for Albion Public School and Avondale Public Schools. Harris also is a 2023 inductee of the Albion Athletic Hall of Fame.

  • James Peery, ’83

    Peery is an artist and art gallery owner living in Harbor Springs. He has worked in a broad range of fields including accounting and advertising. He also has studied economics, business, graphic design and art in the U.S. and France.

  • Alexandra Yaw, ’14

    After completing her doctorate in biomedical sciences-neurosciences, Yaw became a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University. While at Albion College, Yaw conducted undergraduate research as part of FURSCA. She studied circadian rhythms and the role of sleep and nutrition on muscle performance in student-athletes.

Alumni and current students will have the opportunity to network at a reception following the talks.
