Dr. Lisa B. Lewis, professor of chemistry, has been named provost of Albion College, President Wayne Webster announced on Monday, February 26. Lewis has been serving as Albion’s interim provost since fall 2022.
Tall slender strands of wild rice rising out of the Nottawa Creek are helping to nourish a partnership between Albion College and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi tribe in Michigan’s Calhoun County.
Professor of Chemistry & Biochemistry Chris Rohlman was recently named a 2024 Fellow of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). He and 16 fellow honorees will be recognized at ASBMB’s annual conference this spring.
Still in her first job out of Albion, Kayla McQuinn ’20, a biology major, knows the fall season is challenging – but has its rewards. “Harvest and fermentation are exciting because this is when we get all new wines to work with,” McQuinn said.
Albion College’s historic Kresge Gymnasium—home to men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s wrestling—is slated to receive significant upgrades this summer thanks to a $1 million gift from Joe ’82 and Julie Serra.
