College Break Housing
College Break Housing Overview
Albion College recognizes that not all students are able to leave campus during academic breaks. While housing is available during certain breaks, some periods require prior approval to remain on campus. Please note that during break periods, campus resources and services are limited, and all students are encouraged, or in some cases, required, to depart. If you plan to request break housing, we recommend making arrangements early to ensure your needs can be considered.
Fall Break
Thanksgiving Break
Winter Break
Spring Break
Housing remains open during Fall Break, and students are welcome to stay on campus. Dining options will be available, though not all campus dining locations will be open during this time. Students are encouraged to check the dining schedule in advance so they can plan accordingly.
Housing remains open during Thanksgiving Break, but dining options are limited. Students are strongly encouraged to depart campus during the break.
Thanksgiving Break Plan Form
All students must complete the Thanksgiving Break Plan form each year, whether staying on campus or leaving.
- Purpose: To help the college ensure the safety and well-being of our community during the break.
- Availability: The form will be in the Housing Portal and emailed to all students in early November.
If You Are Leaving Campus
Before you leave, please prepare your room by:
- Unplug Electronics (except refrigerators)

For safety purposes, students approved to remain on campus may be relocated to a different residence hall during the break.
Please note: Services and campus resources, including dining, are limited during winter break, and students should plan accordingly.
