Office of Community Living
Your Home Away From Home
At Albion College, Community Living is more than just a place to sleep, it’s where students grow, connect, and find belonging. As part of the Division of Student Development, our team supports students’ academic, social, and personal success by fostering vibrant residential communities across campus.
Our Mission
The Office of Community Living partners with students to create welcoming environments that promote learning, leadership, and life skills beyond the classroom. We believe where you live is essential to how you learn and who you become.
What We Do
Our work centers around:
- Community Living: Managing residential communities, from residential halls to apartments, to ensure a safe, supportive living environment.
- Housing Operations: Overseeing room assignments, room changes, meal plans, and room conditions.
- Student Support: Offering personalized support during transitions such as move-in, room changes, leaves of absences, and graduation.
- Community Engagement: Advising the Community Assistant (CA) student leadership team and collaborating with Student Development on community-building programs, identity development, and transitional experiences for first-year, second-year, and transfer students.
- Crisis Response & Student Care: Partnering with campus resources to address student concerns, wellness, and emergencies within our residential communities.
- Assessment & Improvement: Tracking student needs and experiences to continually enhance residential life at Albion College.
