English

What you'll study.

British and American literary traditions. Expository and argumentative writing. Creative writing. Journalism. When studying literature, you'll learn both the long narrative of literary history and the careful scrutiny of particular genres, periods, authors, and ideas. When studying writing, you'll work toward a mastery of language, including critical reading, rigorous analysis, and the creation of art. Majors and minors.

What you'll do.

Write for The Pleiad, our award-winning student newspaper. Take multimedia journalism and editing, while you're at it. Publish your poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art alongside undergraduates from across the country in The Albion Review—produced and edited entirely by Albion students. Student opportunities.

Where you'll go.

You'll develop the most essential skills required to live and thrive in any modern society—reading, writing, and thinking. And you'll be equipped to discern and address yourself to the challenges of your personal, professional, and civic lives. Potential career paths.
