In its ranking, U.S. News and World Report included Albion in multiple lists of National Liberal Arts Colleges.

For the second straight year, Albion College is considered by U.S. News and World Report to be one of the most innovative small colleges in the country.

In the 2022 edition of U.S. News’ Best Colleges ranking, published today, Albion ranks 32nd in the National Liberal Arts Colleges category for Most Innovative Schools. In its methodology, the publication describes these institutions as “making the most innovative improvements toward curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology and facilities.” These “cutting-edge changes,” according to U.S. News, “can transform students’ educational experiences for the better.”

Albion is also acknowledged in the popular annual ranking for its success in social mobility among peer National Liberal Arts Colleges, as well as for its impactful First-Year Experience among all U.S. colleges and universities. U.S. News states that “The Top Performers on Social Mobility ranking measures the extent schools enrolled and graduated students who received federal Pell Grants,” while leading First-Year Experience programs, “research shows, are linked to student success and positive learning outcomes while fostering a successful undergraduate student experience.” Albion’s First-Year Experience was included among the top 50 in the country.

In its overall ranking, U.S. News and World Report lists Albion at 128 among National Liberal Arts Colleges, up two places from a year ago.

“In an extremely crowded college landscape, it’s clear that Albion is standing out,” said Jamie Krueger, chief enrollment management officer. “Innovative, student-centered offerings like our School for Public Purpose and Professional Advancement, our emphasis on belonging, our focus as an anti-racist institution, together with our traditional strengths—like our First-Year Experience and our institutes and centers—are providing even more compelling reasons for prospective students and their families to consider Albion.”
