Kinesiology Research Study
Matthew Westra is a senior Kinesiology major conducting his thesis research on the prevalence of muscular asymmetries in athletes and weightlifters, which have been associated with higher risk of injury. The IRB has approved the study, and we hope to recruit as many students as possible.
The study includes those who are at least 18 and engage in weightlifting at least twice per week. Participants will be asked to attend two lab sessions (1 hour and 55 minutes total) to measure height, body mass, muscle mass, and maximal strength of shoulders, triceps, quadriceps, and hamstrings, as well as answer questions regarding training regimens and injury history. To participate in this study, contact Matt Westra at [email protected], or Dr. Garner at [email protected].
Thank you!
