Briton Job Pursuit

Briton Job Pursuit is the partnership of 4 on-campus institutes and centers, the Career and Internship Center (CIC), Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management, Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy, and Center for Sustainability and the Environment (CSE). Held in the spring, this event is for students seeking full-time employment, internships, or service project opportunities.

For those seeking a job or internship, Briton Job Pursuit is an opportunity for you to present yourself professionally in-person to a potential employer while showcasing your communication skills.  The keys to a successful experience are preparation and follow-up. Here is a checklist to help you get prepared!

Research the list of participating organizations through Handshake.
Get your resume reviewed  (see Gerstacker or CIC).
Prepare your 30-second introduction and practice with the Gerstacker or CIC staff members.
Make sure you have a suit, padfolio, and numerous copies of your resume printed on resume paper!
Don't forget to ask for business cards at the job fair so you can follow up with thank-you notes.
There will be a photo backdrop at Briton Job Pursuit. Have a friend take your photo with your phone and use the photo for your LinkedIn profile. The backdrop will be located in the hallway in Upper Baldwin. Visit the Career Closet, located in the Career and Internship Center, Ferguson, 3rd floor, to shop for FREE business attire.
