Jasmine LaBine
Staff Lecturer
Jasmine LaBine has been a proud adopted Brit since Fall 2020. She received her M.A. in Communication from Western Michigan University where she focused her research on media representations of underrepresented groups, primarily in relation to gender and sexuality. Her teaching career began almost immediately after defending her Master’s thesis in 2016, when she began teaching a Gender and Communication course at WMU that she still teaches today.
Jasmine is extremely passionate about teaching, and as of Spring 2026, has taught over 100 courses across five institutions. Whether she’s teaching about sports, media, or general communication theory, she hopes to leave all of her students with an increased awareness of the impact of messages on their everyday lives and worldviews.
