Albion Today

We have some exciting news to share! Beginning Monday, Aug. 22, Albion Today will feature a brand new design with more content that will keep you more connected to happenings all around campus.

Presented by the Office of Marketing and Communication, in partnership with the Office of Campus Life, Albion Today will include news, features and other need-to-know info in addition to the full, robust listing of announcements and events you expect to see in your email inbox each day.

The process for submitting an item, while on a new WordPress platform, will essentially remain the same:

  • Visit the Albion Today website and click on the Submit a Post link at top right. (On mobile phones, click on Submit a Post from the three-horizontal-line “hamburger” menu.) You will be prompted to enter your network login information.
  • Fill in each form field and click Submit at the bottom when complete. You will see a screen indicating that your entry has been successfully submitted. (You may need to scroll up on your screen to see that message.)
  • Be concise and include your call to action early in your post. (Feel free to add it at the end as well.) The system is set up to keep the Albion Today email shorter with less scrolling; longer submissions will include an ellipsis in the email, and readers will need to click on the headline to see the entire post on the Albion Today website.
  • Please note that the name of the contact person will accompany the event or announcement information. A submission will not be posted without a contact name and email address in the Author Name and Author’s Email Address fields.
  • Be sure to double-check your information before clicking Submit at the bottom.

The deadline for submissions also remains the same: 8 a.m. Monday through Friday to ensure it appears in that morning’s Albion Today email. Submissions for weekend emails must also be sent by no later than 8 a.m. Friday. Each day between 9 and 10 a.m. ET, an Albion Today email will be automatically generated and sent to students, faculty and staff. (Please note that active submissions in the outgoing platform have been carried over into the new WordPress platform.)

Campus Life staff will continue to give a first look at submissions. Marketing and Communication staff will offer a final proofread and publish submissions to the Albion Today website and daily email. The MarComm team has many years of experience in curating, writing, editing and proofreading content, and will work diligently to produce an Albion Today that is informative, user-friendly and engaging.

As you know, there is so much going on at Albion College, and we want to include your events, lectures, gatherings and more. Whether it’s for tomorrow, next week or next month, take a few minutes and submit your announcements and events today! We can’t wait to share them with the entire Albion College campus community.
