Andrea Ploucher Francis
Professor of Psychological Science, Director of Human Services Concentration
Francis, who is also director of Albion’s Human Services Concentration, has taught at the college since 2010.
Her research focuses on how education, developmental differences, and parenting impact emerging adults’ mental health and creativity. Francis’ work has been published in a variety of journals, including Psychology of Learning and Teaching, Child and Family Studies, Brain and Language, and Creativity Research Journal.
She has also won several awards for her scholarship and teaching, including a University Distinguished Fellowship, an Outstanding Faculty/Staff Award presented by Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities in 2009 and Albion’s Mark Sheldon Putnam ’41 and Mildred Plate Putnam’41 Faculty Mentoring Award in 2022.
She teaches several courses including Introduction to Psychology, Educational Psychology, Child & Adolescent Development, Lifespan Development, and Psychology of Language.
