Albion College is delighted to host the 2019 GLCA IT Conference at the Albion College campus. This year we hope to explore a wide variety of topics within Information Technology, specifically centered around the theme, "IT Collaboration Among Friends: What Works and What Doesn't?"

From West: Take I-94 East to exit 121 (I-94 Business Route). Turn south towards Albion. You will pass Family Fare, a stoplight, and KFC and come to a stop light at Austin Ave. Turn left onto Austin Ave (I-94 Business Route). Then take a right onto Superior street. Drive straight. The Courtyard Marriott will be on the right, with parking in the back.

From East: Take I-94 West to Exit 124 (M-99). Turn right on M-99; it will become Michigan Ave. Follow Michigan Ave. The second stoplight will be Superior street. Turn left on Superior. Drive straight. The Courtyard Marriott will be on the right, with parking in the back.

Parking is available at the Courtyard Marriott. Limited street parking is available for all conference locations.


Most events are held within 1-2 blocks of the hotel. However, shuttles will be offered from conference locations to the main campus as needed for dining, presentations, and tours.

Call for Presentations

We are looking for general and break-out sessions that would highlight our theme: "IT Collaboration Among Friends: What Works and What Doesn't?" Possible topics could include:

  • IT Strategies (Cloud, Data Center Reduction, Data Governance, etc...)
  • Community engagement projects
  • Innovation spaces, VR rooms, Visualization rooms, etc. 
  • Supporting Digital Humanities, motivating faculty, etc. 
  • Student worker programs, involving students in administration
  • New systems, old systems to keep
  • Business processes, organizational structures, leadership
  • Successful (or failed) communication strategies to students, faculty and or/staff
  • Future planning

GLCA IT 2019 Presentation Submission

Those with accepted proposals will receive a follow-up email no later than January 4, 2019.

Registration fee is $80 per participant, which includes all conference materials and meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
