Todd Shayler, General Manager, Albion College Bookstore, shared the following message in an email to the Albion College staff.
Your Albion College Bookstore will reopen to the campus tomorrow, Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. daily (M-F) until the need arises for the hours to be extended. Per Albion College and Barnes & Noble College policies, customers entering the store will be asked to wear a face mask for the protection of both our customers and employees. We also ask that you maintain the recommended 6ft social distancing while in the store. Hand sanitizer will be available for your use at the door and the cash register.
As you can imagine, we have had perishable inventory loss due to this Covid-19 closure. So, many snack and beverage items to which you may have been accustomed may not currently be available. But, rest assured that we do have stock and items available to fill your snack and lunchtime needs. And we will be working to restock the inventory as soon as possible, realizing that shipping delays and product availability will be an ongoing issue for some time.
You will notice a different layout and traffic flow to the store with directional arrows and social distancing queues marked on our floor. Traffic will likely remain low for the next few weeks over the summer, and these changes will likely not appear significant now. But, please stay tuned for further communication on important updates to the service flow of the store as we approach heavier traffic and Fall semester reopening. All future updates will be communicated to the entire campus community via Albion Today messaging.
