Update Regarding Non-Medical-Grade Face Coverings for On-Site Workers

May 1, 2020

From Lisa Locke, director of human resources:

Dear Colleagues,

Under Governor Whitmer's executive oder 2020-59 any individual able to medically tolerate a face covering must wear a covering over his or her nose and mouth—such as a homemade mask, scarf, bandana or handkerchief—when in any enclosed public space.

Masks will be required for those visiting Campus Safety, the Kellogg Center and other enclosed public spaces on campus.

Employees who were previously identified as a critical worker will recieve a face mask and CDC instructions regarding the use of a face mask via campus mail. Please make sure these get to those essential workers who are working on site for part or all of their work responsibilities. Please note employees are permitted to wear their own face coverings/masks.

If the earlier critical-worker designations need to be modified, please let me know. Any modification to this list must be approved by the senior-level executive for the division.

If you are an on-site worker, please contact me if you need an accommodation for this requirement because you are not able to medically tolerate a face covering.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Albion College. Please stay well and stay safe.
