College Response to Governor's Stay-Home, Stay-Safe Order

March 23, 2020, 11:30 a.m.

To All Members of the Albion College Community:

Just a few minutes ago, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued a stay-home, stay-safe executive order as the next step in the state's effort to combat and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus and COVID-19. The order goes into effect at midnight ET tonight and will be in effect for at least the next three weeks.

The College has been making preparations for this situation, as this action follows that of other states in the last several days. At the same time, every preparation couldn't be made in advance until official wording from the governor's office was shared.

As such, please be on the lookout for a follow-up communication, which will be sent as soon as possible this afternoon with details on what students and their families, faculty and staff can expect in the days ahead.

Bear in mind that the situation continues to be fluid, and we understand there will be more questions in the hours and days to come. We will do our best to answer them as efficiently and as completely as we can, with the information that we have at the time. Questions can continue to be sent to , and the College's COVID-19 web page will continue to be updated.

Again, a follow-up communication will be sent shortly with more details pertaining to the governor's stay-home, stay-safe order.

Thank you,

Albion College Response Team
