The New Student Orientation program, Albion-O, sponsored by the Division of Student Development, is designed to help new students and their families transition to Albion College.
If you're a new student to Albion for the Fall Semester 2020, then you must attend Albion-O. This orientation program is for both first-year and transfer students.
Students will arrive on Wednesday, August 19 and participate in Move-In Day. Orientation sessions will begin Wednesday evening and continue through Sunday. Fall semester classes begin Monday, August 24. Specific details regarding the schedule will be added at a later date.
Albion-O, will help you make connections with faculty, staff and fellow students. You will learn information and strategies to help prepare for your college experience. Faculty will work with you to understand what it will take to be successful in the classroom and staff will share expectations of what it means to live and study in a residential campus.
Note: Fall sport athletes, marching band members will have different arrival/move-in dates and those will be communicated by each respective program.
While new college students experience a significant life transition, we also know that Parents/Family members experience a transition from afar. The New Student Orientation Program will include a Parent/Family program on August 19 and a half day on August 20 to give participants an opportunity to talk with faculty, meet our administrators and introduce yourself to life at Albion College. Parent/Family is not strictly defined as we have welcomed parents, siblings, grandparents and other important mentors. While the orientation program is required for students, the Parent/Family program participation is optional.
Specific details regarding the Parent/Family Program will be added at a later date.
