Information: Kiernan holds a Master's in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University with a concentration in Mental Health and Chemical Dependency. He is a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) and Certified Advance Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).
Kiernan has extensive experience in mental health diagnosis and treatment. For the past thirty years, he has specialized in the prevention and treatment of chemical dependency as a program manager, lead counselor, program coordinator, and substance abuse specialist. During this time, he has worked in a wide range of socio-cultural settings, such as in California at the Betty Ford Center and the Riverside County Substance Abuse Program; in the West Indies at Crossroads, Eric Clapton's chemical dependency treatment center; and in Michigan at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Michigan Department of Corrections, and Family Services and Children's Aid.
Currently, Kiernan works as a substance abuse specialist at Albion College in Albion, Michigan and as a program manager at Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee & Hillsdale Counties in Michigan. At Catholic Charities he is responsible for overseeing both community and prison based programs across the state of Michigan.
Kiernan resides in Jackson County Michigan with his wife, Amelia. They both enjoy volunteering in a variety of social and educational programs that help people develop skills that lead to strong, stable living. Kiernan also enjoys spending time with family, weight lifting, biking, golfing, and swimming.
