Presidential Search Updates

January 9, 2020

TO: Members of the Albion College Community

FROM: Mike Harrington, '85, Chair and Joey Miller, '75, Vice Chair of the Presidential Search Committee

We hope 2020 is going smoothly for you so far and want to let you know the presidential search is off to a great start.

The Presidential Search Committee met just prior to the winter break and had thoughtful discussion about the attributes we are looking for in a new president, the search process, and timeline. The group also reviewed the draft search profile and made valuable edits and additions. We invite you to review the finalized copy, which is available on the College's Presidential Search website and on the website of our search firm, Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates.

We would particularly call your attention to the attributes most highly desired in our new President. Who do you know who fits our criteria? Please suggest people you know who could serve effectively in this critically important position or those you think might know of potential candidates. Please forward their names to Julie Tea, Susan VanGilder, and Julie Williams-Krishnan at .

The committee is well aware that the success of our search depends on the involvement of all members of the Albion College community and would encourage your input. Please rest assured that names and information will be treated with full confidentiality.

Over the next several weeks, we will develop a national candidate pool through nominations received from you and others, inquiries at other colleges and universities similar to the College in scope and mission, advertising in leading publications and on websites focused on higher education, and the work of our search firm.

In February, the search committee will begin to narrow the candidate pool. We will write to you again as we enter the next stage of the process. Thank you for your continued support.

To: Members of the Albion College Community

From: Michael "Mike" J. Harrington, Chair and Joanne "Joey" Miller, Vice Chair of the Presidential Search Committee

As we approach the winter holidays, we would like to update you on our shared work to identify Albion College's next great President.

Thank you to the many College community members who took the time to meet with our search consultants Julie Tea, Susan VanGilder, and Julie Williams-Krishnan of Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates who visited campus recently for their site visit. Your dialogues with them were thoughtful and engaging and will serve as the basis for the development of the search profile, the chief marketing tool for the search. If you did not have a chance to visit with Julie, Susan, and Julie or if you have more to share in relation to the search, please complete the confidential survey that has been crafted for the search at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AlbionPresident.
