The role of the Victim Advocate is to provide nonjudgmental, confidential support to survivors of interpersonal violence. The Victim Advocate is specially trained to help students navigate options and services on campus and in the community. The Victim Advocate will not release personally identifiable information without your permission. 

What is a Victim Advocate?

The Victim Advocate provides confidential support to survivors of sexual assault, stalking, and dating/domestic violence.  Any Albion College student, staff, or faculty member can utilize the Victim Advocate’s services.  The Victim Advocate has undergone extensive training to be able to support survivors on Albion’s campus.

The Victim Advocate is here to help survivors navigate the options available to them on campus and in the greater Albion community.  The Victim Advocate can provide:

  • Support and resources
  • Information regarding medical care and Sexual Assault Forensic Exams
  • Personal Protective Order assistance
  • Referrals to Accessibility Services to receive academic accommodations
  • Assistance finding safe housing
  • Assistance finding legal aid
  • Referrals to counseling, either on or off campus
  • Guidance through the Title IX reporting process
  • Guidance and support in reporting to law enforcement

How Do I Set Up a Meeting with the Victim Advocate?

The Victim Advocate provides confidential support.  Speaking with the Victim Advocate will not start a formal campus or criminal investigation.

To set up a meeting with the Victim Advocate:

  1. Call Haley Hill at (517) 629-0613. If they do not answer, please leave a voicemail with only your name and phone number for them to call back. If you do not receive a call back within 48 hours, send Haley an email at
  2. Haley will schedule a meeting based on your availability between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
  3. When you arrive for your meeting, Haley will greet you in their office in the Kellogg Center room 304. If you would be more comfortable, you may bring a friend or other support person with you.
  4. If Haley is unable to greet you, notify the employee at the desk in the Campus Life office suite that you are here to meet with them.  You do not need to clarify what you are here to meet with them about.

If you need immediate assistance or if you need assistance outside of Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., call the Sexual Assault Services 24-hour hotline at 888-383-2192.  If you are concerned for your immediate safety, please contact Campus Safety at (517) 629-0213 or call the police by dialing 911.
