The bachelor’s degree offered by Albion College is the best of the in-state institutions of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and one of the 10 best among all of Michigan’s universities and colleges, according to a recent ranking from the website University HQ.

To build its ranking, University HQ sourced data from College Navigator and College Scorecard from the U.S. Department of Education; the federal government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics; and Payscale.com, which lets graduates add in their own earnings information to generate larger data metrics about salary ranges among grads from specific institutions.

From the data collected, University HQ’s methodology focused on a range of factors, including a college’s tuition cost; percentage of students receiving financial aid; number of programs offered; and admission, retention and graduation rates. According to the site, a “reputation and expert opinion” factor was also incorporated into the ranking “to build a higher level of credibility and trust amongst their peers for the same academic programs.”

The University HQ ranking follows Albion’s entry in the annual Fiske Guide to Colleges, which for nearly 40 years has selectively featured 300 institutions from around the country.
