Fraternity 'Car Smash' Hits Juvenile Diabetes Campaign
The chance to do some damage for a good cause comes to Albion, as the Albion College Delta Tau Delta (DTD) fraternity sponsors a "car smash" Saturday, October 13. The smashing begins after Albion's Homecoming parade at approximately 10:45 a.m., and continues until 1 p.m. near the corner of Hannah and East Erie streets.
For a small donation, participants can take a sledgehammer to a car, donated by Discount Auto Salvage from Springport. Proceeds from the smash will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
"Delta Tau Delta is excited to have recently formed a national philanthropic partnership with JDRF," said Albion student Alex Schumaker. "We are eager to help raise money for such a well-deserving cause and doing so in a fun way. Come help us demolish Type-I diabetes!"
