Albion College Dedicates Davis Athletic Complex

Albion College Athletic Director Matt Arend stood before a crowd of more than 100 people Sunday afternoon and watched as the dream became reality. Thanks to the generosity of longtime Albion residents Bud and Olivia Davis, who provided the lead naming gift, the Davis Athletic Complex represents the start of a new era for outdoor Briton athletics.

Gronseth Scholarship Helps Students Write Their Futures

Class of 1917 alumnus Harold E. Gronseth (left), who covered the auto industry for The Wall Street Journal and moved into a successful advertising career at Campbell Ewald in Detroit, is being further honored by his son, Harold R. Gronseth, '52, through an estate gift that will enhance a memorial scholarship for communications students to more than $1 million. "I knew how much he thought of his time at Albion. I just wanted to do something that would be a lasting tribute," said Harold R. Gronseth about his father.

Will, '50, Expands Efforts to Attract Students from Coast to Coast

Nine years ago, longtime California resident and dedicated 1950 alumnus Wendell Will decided to establish the Wendell Will, ’50, Out-of-Great Lakes Endowed Scholarship, aimed at making Albion’s student body more geographically diverse. Recently, Will increased his gift to the endowment, and its principal now stands at more than $1 million.

Major Gift Advances Albion College Soccer/Lacrosse Project

A $500,000 gift has given new impetus to Albion College’s fund drive for Phase II of the planned improvements in its outdoor athletic facilities, expected to cost $3 million. The gift, which came in August from anonymous donors, will support the construction of a new soccer/lacrosse complex.
