Veteran Journalist Carlson to Help Tell Albion's Story

Chuck Carlson, director of media relations, Albion CollegeChuck Carlson brings four decades of experience as a writer and editor to Albion College as its new director of media relations.

Carlson comes to Albion from the Battle Creek Enquirer after five years as assistant managing editor, Connections page editor and local storyteller/columnist. Over the course of his career, he has also worked for newspapers in Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Washington state, Nevada and Wisconsin.

A longtime sportswriter, Carlson has authored 12 books, mostly on the Green Bay Packers, a team he covered for 11 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in journalism from American University in 1979.

“This is an exciting new direction for me after so many years in the newspaper business,” Carlson said. “This will be a chance for me to work not only with news organizations in the state but around the country to expound and in some cases introduce what Albion College has to offer. This also appears to be an exciting time for the College, and I’m looking forward to being part of it.”
