Albion College's alumni magazine, Io Triumphe!, recently received Best Alumni/Institution Magazine Silver Award distinction from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District V. The 2014 Pride of CASE V honor marks the third consecutive year Albion publications have been recognized for design excellence by CASE V, the pre-eminent professional organization for higher education advancement professionals in the Midwest.
Sarah Briggs, associate vice president for communications, serves as the magazine’s editor, and Katherine Hibbs, director of art and design, is its graphic designer.
Io Triumphe! was revamped in spring 2013, with a new approach to content and a complete redesign, to mirror current trends in magazine publishing.
“We have worked hard to create a magazine that is engaging on many levels for our readers,” Briggs said. “Katherine Hibbs deserves special recognition for a design that is at once sophisticated and approachable. We are pleased that the magazine continues to have high readership among our alumni, parents, and friends, and we believe our new format enhances that connection.”
Albion's previous awards recognized an online alumni communications piece and print works designed for the College's Office of Admission.
The Pride of CASE V awards are given to institutions and individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement in the concept and execution of programs within the advancement, alumni, and communications fields throughout Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin. This year, CASE V received more than 480 entries for 45 awards.
