Poetry Fest Celebrates 'Poetry' Magazine Centennial
The Albion College Library will celebrate National Poetry Month by hosting its thirteenth annual Poetry Fest on Tuesday, April 10, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., in the Stockwell-Mudd Library's Wendell Will Room. An "open mic" format offers anyone in the audience of students, staff, and community members the opportunity to recite or read aloud an original or favorite poem.
"Intermission prize drawings, delicious refreshments, and a grand finale that features a campus 'celebrity couple' are popular traditions," says event organizer Marion Meilaender. "This year we will also salute an important anniversary for poetry lovers – Harriet Monroe's founding of Poetry Magazine 100 years ago."
