Albion College student Nicholas Laban performs his senior piano recital Thursday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Goodrich Chapel.
Laban's program includes Bach's Prelude and Fugue in D Minor, the first two movements of Franz Schubert's Sonata in B-flat Major, Frédéric Chopin's Ballade No. 3 in A-flat Major, and Alban Berg's Sonata No. 1.
"I am incredibly excited to perform my senior recital," says Laban. "It is an opportunity for me to showcase everything I have learned over the past four years. My pieces are all stunningly beautiful, and they demonstrate a wide breadth of technical and emotional content."
Laban is a senior from Lansing, majoring in piano performance and economics and management. At Albion, he is involved with Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia men's music fraternity as the current music director, as well as Briton Singers and Concert Choir, which he serves as president. He also works as a collaborative pianist at Interlochen Arts Camp during the summer. He currently studies piano with Dr. Lia Jensen-Abbott.
This performance is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Albion College Music department at 517/629-0481 or .
