AT&T Michigan Joins Employees to Support Albion College
Terry Mulvihill, AT&T director of external affairs, presented Albion College with a check for $640, which represented the company's gift that matched contributions made by Michigan AT&T employees to the College. With Mulvihill are Albion College associate vice president for development Shannon Duvall, Michigan State Representative Kate Segal and Suzanne Van Wassenhove, associate vice president for annual giving and alumni engagement.
AT&T Michigan external affairs director Terry Mulvihill recently visited Albion to present Albion College with funds from AT&T's matching gift program. AT&T Michigan matched $640 of donations made to the College by Michigan AT&T employees. This gift was only part of the more than $3,000 given to Albion College by the company this fiscal year.
"We are pleased to support Albion College and we applaud them for all they do for the community," said AT&T Michigan President James A. Murray. "AT&T employees have a long history of giving back to our communities and supporting important educational institutions like Albion is one of the best ways we can do that."
Michigan State Representative (62nd district) Kate Segal was on hand for the presentation, "I appreciate AT&T's support of higher education," Segal commented, "and applaud their employees who contribute to Albion College, an excellent liberal arts college that we are fortunate to have in Calhoun County."
"Employer matching gifts benefit the alumnus, the College, and the employer," explained Sue VanWassenhove, Albion's associate vice president for annual giving and alumni engagement. "These matching gifts give back to the community and support something of lasting value while encouraging philanthropy. Though some employers have reduced their matching gift programs, AT&T continues to match charitable contributions made by current employees and retirees. On behalf of Albion College students, faculty and staff we sincerely thank AT&T for their commitment."
