I'm living in Alicante, Spain, right now, a beautiful city on the Mediterranean coast. I'm studying Spanish art history, Spanish women's literature, translation, and the Camino de Santiago at the University of Alicante, and of course, learning a lot about Spanish culture.

On October 31 my host family little sister, who is 7, asked me about our Halloween traditions. I told her about our jack-o-lanterns, and then showed her how we made faces, using a mandarin orange as a pumpkin. It was so much fun!
