Barbara Weiskittel, '83, and Craig Rundle, '74, to Speak at 2019 Commencement

An Albion alumna and alumnus who have kept their ties to the College strong in unique ways will address the Class of 2019 at Commencement, scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at 1 p.m. (processional at 12:45 p.m.) from the steps of Kresge Gymnasium on the Quadrangle.

barb 130x110Barbara Weiskittel, ’83Barbara Weiskittel, '83, who was born and raised in Albion, earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry with honors from Albion College and her master’s in international business from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She began her career in sales and marketing for Parke-Davis Warner Lambert, then moved into global roles, including marketing in the Asia-Pacific region. She is currently Director, Scientific Leadership in the Diabetes Franchise, Global Human Health, for Merck and Co., Inc., in Kenilworth, N.J.

Weiskittel has remained close to her alma mater and hometown, generously supporting such programs as Build Albion Fellows, Albion’s Big Read, downtown Albion redevelopment and the College's Foundation for Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity.

rundle 130X110Craig Rundle, ’74Craig Rundle, ’74, who led the Britons football program as head coach for more than two decades and produced 187 victories before retiring after the 2018 season, will also speak to the graduating class. A physical education and recreation major at Albion who later earned a master’s degree from Central Michigan University, Rundle started his coaching career as an assistant at CMU and Wayne State University before gaining his first head coaching position, at St. Mary’s College of California in 1986. Four years later he moved to Colorado College, where he served seven seasons as head coach before returning to Albion in 1997.

His 22-year Albion tenure is the longest in program history, during which he led the Britons to seven Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association championships and five NCAA Division III postseason appearances.
