African-American Mental Health Expert Discusses Concerns, Solutions at Albion College

Mental health concerns – and help – specific to people of color are the subject for discussion as Kalamazoo advocate Valerie Cunningham makes a public presentation Thursday, October 17, at 8 p.m. in Albion College's Norris Science Center Towsley Hall (corner of East Michigan and Hannah Streets).


Cunningham is founder and CEO of GFM The Synergy Center, which provides mental health services for African-Americans and other people of color in the Kalamazoo area. Now in its 17th year of operation, GFMSC works with children, teens, and adults in need of counseling, substance abuse recovery, and other mental health services.
