Albion Big Read Film, "The Hate U Give"

Starr Carter is the only witness when her friend is shot by a police officer during a routine traffic stop. As her personal trauma turns into national news, Starr struggles to resolves the perspectives of her African-American urban community and her wealthy prep school classmates and teachers. Rated PG-13.

 

"Pride," a 21st-century take on the 19th century's beloved "Pride and Prejudice," is the focus of Albion's 2019 Big Read. Throughout October, the Big Read sponsors a number of community book discussions led by Albion youth. Films and special events round out the October celebration of reading together.
