Annual College Event Sets Tone for Season
with Support for Community

Albion College's 48th annual Festival of Lessons and Carols takes place Sunday, December 8 at 7 p.m. in Goodrich Chapel -- watch live on UStream.

This event, first held in England in the 1880s, combines audience singing and choral performances by Albion's Concert Choir and Briton Singers, with scripture readings connected with the season.

New at Lessons and Carols this year is the collection of personal comfort items (hats, gloves, toiletries) and monetary donations for Albion Interfaith Ministries and the Albion/Homer United Way. "It's important to keep this a free event," says Clayton Parr, Albion College's director of choral activities. "We want to provide an opportunity for the audience to give back to the community."

The local chapter of Albion College alumni will host a reception following the concert. For more information, contact Lisa Reed, Albion College Music Department (517) 629-0481 .
