5th Annual Albion Bee School

Classes will cover the natural history ofthe honeybee, how to set up and manage a hive, handling/ordering bees, bee diseases, swarm removal, honey extraction and more.

Local beekeeping vendors will be on hand for supplies and Keynote: Dr. Meghan Milbrath


  • Beginner classes for those just starting
  • Intermediate classes for those who have already established a hive! Classes are different each yearsupport.


  • $40.00 per person for pre-registration
  • $25.00 per person for students ages 17 and under; Albion College faculty/staff/students

  • Refreshments throughout the morning

Symposium on Teaching and Student Learning

The Albion College Symposium on Teaching and Student Learning provides an informal venue for faculty and staff to share and discuss their particular contributions to teaching and student learning on campus. It will include poster sessions, two roundtable discussions, food and drink, and lots of time for informal conversation.

Christin Spoolstra, '11 (connected via web cam) will share about her experiences in international service. 

After graduating from AC, Christin Spoolstra joined the Peace Corps in Cambodia, serving first as an English Teacher and Teacher Training Volunteer and later as Volunteer Leader. She is now the Deputy Country Director for Caring for Cambodia. 

Co-sponsored by the Ford Institute and Departments of Anthropology/Sociology, English, International Studies, and Philosophy.

Dressage Test Clinic with Eddy de Wolff van Westerrode

Ride the dressage test of your choice in front of Eddy de Wolff van Westerrode, an FEI-5* judge from the Netherlands who judged the 2014 World Cup, the Young Horse Championships in Verden, the Adequan Global Dressage Festival and is a 2016 Olympic hopeful. Rides include a video with judge's comments and scores and 20 minutes afterwards to analyze and repeat parts that can be improved with judge's instruction. Pre-registration is required. "Human Trafficking: Modern Day Slavery" presentation

Human Trafficking: Modern Day Slavery Thursday, March 19, 2015 7:00-8:30 p.m., Bobbitt Auditorium Jane White, Director of the Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force, will speak about human trafficking and the work being done to restore victims’ lives, prosecute perpetrators, and raise awareness.  Particular attention will be given to the Michigan area and the impact on female victims/survivors.  Co-sponsored by the American Association of University Women (Albion Chapter) and the Office of the Chaplain (Albion College).  Public welcome.

Albion College Equestrian and Grant, Millman & Johnson, P.C. present a unique seminar led by Jacob R. Strecker, M.B.A., C.P.A.. Strecker has over 35 years of experience and is recognized for his knowledge of income tax, accounting and management issues facing horse businesses and their owners. Strecker is the director of the Equine Services of Grant, Millman & Johnson, P.C. Cost is $40 per person and includes lunch. Pre-registration is required. Dressage Symposium with Charles de Kunffy

The legendary Charles de Kunffy visits Albion for the sixth time to lead a unique dressage instructional symposium. Spend the first half of the day with a classroom discussion and theory session led by Mr. de Kunffy. After the lunch break, he will teach six riding lessons to demonstrate the theories discussed previously. Rider and auditor applications are being accepted currently.
