Erin T. Franzen, ’07
joined the Ruth Mott Foundation in January 2012 as a Program Assistant and was promoted to Program Associate in January 2014.
She completed her undergraduate education at Albion College with a degree in Political Science and a concentration in Public Policy and Public Service from the Gerald R. Ford Institute. In 2010, Erin received an MA in War Studies specializing in US Foreign Policy and Military Mental Health from King’s College London. The opportunity to examine US foreign policy through an international lens was one she could not pass up and will never regret.
Erin was born and raised in Flint and is proud to have graduated from the Flint Community Schools. Prior to joining RMF she completed a year of national service as an AmeriCorps member at the American Red Cross where she functioned as a Community Disaster Preparedness Educator and Program Coordinator for the Exploring Humanitarian Law Program. Erin’s professional background also includes time at the US Department of Veterans Affairs and at the University of Michigan where she served as a Research Assistant and Study Coordinator.
A working member of Therapy Dogs International for more than five years, Erin and her therapy dog Finn regularly visit veterans at the VA Medical Center in Saginaw. She is also an active volunteer with the local chapter of the American Red Cross, an Advisory Board member for the Flint and Genesee Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Committee, and a founding member of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint’s Gen Forward Network.
