Albion College's Hillel student group invites the Albion community to join for a delicious and educational Shabbat dinner at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in the College's Umbrella House, located just north of the "Albion College" sign at the corner of East Michigan and Bidwell Street.
Mostly it's a social event, a chance to enjoy Jewish food and show peoples the basic Shabbat ceremony," said Rachel Freedman-Doan, president of Hillel. "It'll be a lot of good food and friendship."
Dinner will include a poached-pear salad, matzo ball soup, baked chicken and vegetarian squash with quinoa and currants. The food will be prepared by Hillel members.
Reservations are required, but there is no cost to attend. People of any or no religion are encouraged to attend and enjoy. For more information, contact Freedman-Doan at or 734-646-8880.
