"When I began embracing my autistic identity and getting involved in disability rights, I didn’t know what I wanted to contribute and where my place should be," writes the sociology and English double major and Brown Honors Program and Ford Institute member. "This summer, the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) ended up being the perfect place for me to explore those questions."

Pre-veterinary student and Albion women's lacrosse team member Kate Mullins, '20, spent the fall semester at the University of Glasgow, where she studied the Scottish Enlightenment and how the ideas that came out of that period continue to affect modern life. "I learned how to be myself, " said Mullins, who is also part of the Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program. "There's a sense of independence I got from this experience."
