Booth Walling: Help Eradicate Human Trafficking in Michigan
"Human trafficking is an international problem but it also happens in Michigan," writes Carrie Booth Walling, Albion College assistant professor of political science, in a January 31, 2015 op-ed column in the Flint Journal. "It happens in urban centers, suburban communities and rural areas. Trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which people profit from the control and exploitation of others whether or not victims cross international or state borders." Labor trafficking, in particular, is a major problem in Michigan, she adds.

Albion Professor Co-Creates Online Human Rights Resource
Scholars, teachers, and activists concerned with human rights have a valuable new resource, thanks to Albion College assistant professor of political science Carrie Booth Walling and University of Michigan professor Susan Waltz. The pair recently launched a website to provide comprehensive information on human rights advocacy and the ongoing standardization of international policy. Their work is featured in the latest edition of Human Rights Quarterly.

In Campus Lecture, Booth Walling Discusses Her Book, UN, Syria
In a February 19 lecture inside a crowded Bobbitt Auditorium, Carrie Booth Walling, assistant professor of political science, talked about her recently published book, All Necessary Measures: The United Nations and Humanitarian Intervention; drew connections to the ongoing situation in Syria; and shared how she became drawn to human rights and humanitarian intervention as a scholarly pursuit.
