Albion College hosts a statewide celebration of ceramics on Saturday, October 14, starting at 8 a.m. at the Bobbitt Visual Arts Center. This one-day biennial conference showcases the excellence of ceramic art and its diversity of techniques.
Michigan Mud will attract more than 200 ceramic artists ranging from high school and college students to hobby potters to established professionals. It offers attendees ample learning and networking opportunities throughout the day, with six demonstration presenters, two lecturers, a presenter exhibit, vendor booths, and a student cup show.
Support from these activities will go to benefit Michigan Ceramic Arts Association (MCAA) student scholarships. This year’s conference also features keynote presenter Ben Carter, a studio potter, workshop leader, and social media enthusiast based in Santa Cruz, CA.
This community event is open to the public. Registration is required and all instructions and event information can be found on the MCAA website: www.michclay.com.
