Kate, Pre-Veterinary MedicineKate, Pre-Veterinary MedicineAlbion College is able to offer a unique pre-veterinary tract led by practicing veterinarian and adjunct professor Dr. Jennifer Aschenbrener D.V.M. A pre-veterinary student may major in any discipline in which he or she has interest and ability. Most of our students choose to major in biology or chemistry, but any major may be pursued, as long as the basic science and other requirements of the veterinary graduate schools are met. Pre-veterinary students have matriculated at professional schools including: Michigan State University, Ohio State University, and University of Illinois.

Unique features of our program include:

  • HCI 105: Intro to Veterinary Medicine
  • Shadowing opportunities with Dr. Aschenbrener and other area veterinarians
  • Exposure to both large and small animals
  • Experiential learning trips to local animal facilities (like the Alpaca Farm!)
  • Access to the Nancy G. Held Equestrian Center
  • Assistance with VMCAS application process
  • Entrance exam support
