Baker, '16, Protects Vulnerable Citizens Through Probate Internship

Ensuring the safety of society's most vulnerable members is often a legal matter, and this summer some of that work was handled by Kristine Baker, '16, through an internship with Ingham County Probate Court. Focused on cases involving young children and legally incapacitated adults, Baker visited homes and spent part of nearly every day testifying in front of a judge.

"I have developed a passion for international politics and diplomacy through my learning with the Political Science Department," says Mitchell Moore, '16. "So I filled out an online application for a summer internship through the U.S. Department of State, and that's brought me halfway around the world working on our country's behalf in Zambia."

Ford Institute, City Welcome 120 for Week of Volunteering

A group of 120 volunteers from a church in Illinois volunteered for a week in Albion earlier this month.

Albion College's Ford Institute was hopping June 14-20 as staffers organized a visit by 120 members of Knox Presbyterian Church from Naperville, Illinois. The church, which has a College connection via the Ford Institute, chose the Albion community as its annual mission trip destination.
