Why did you choose Ford?

I chose the Ford Institute because I’m passionate about public policy issues. Being aware of these issues and taking action can further improve the world we live in. With the guidance and opportunities offered within the program and by the professors, I knew that I would thoroughly enjoy it.

What current issue/topic is important to you?

A current issue that is important to me is the U.S. Immigration Policy. The United States is a country of immigrants, they keep America young and dynamic. We need to be able to provide a path of citizenship for people who are in search of a better life, not only for themselves, but for their family as well.

In what ways have you been involved with this cause at Albion?

I have joined organizations that have similar beliefs and talked to members of the college and the community about the topic. I also have been able to find opportunities to further my knowledge about immigration and help the cause through the Ford Institute.

What has been the most influential moment for you thus far at Albion College?

It’s difficult to narrow it down to just one moment. Even though I am only a first year at Albion College I feel like I have been able to experience something new every day. From going out to lunch with my professor, meeting a variety of new people, experiencing new cultures, getting familiar with the downtown, and to finding out about the countless opportunities offered by Albion College. These moments, as well as many more, have been extremely influential and have helped me begin my journey here at Albion College.

What do you envision yourself doing after Albion?

After my time at Albion College I envision myself attending law school, becoming an immigration attorney, and eventually open my own law firm. Ultimately, I would want to help people achieve a better life and their own version of the “American Dream”.
