Albion College Presidential Search graphicThe Board of Trustees and its Presidential Search Committee are pleased to announce that the 16th president of Albion College has been selected.

The new president, Dr. Mauri A. Ditzler, was introduced November 22, 2013 in a special event for the campus community in the Science Complex Atrium.

Dr. Ditzler, who will begin in the role on July 1, 2014, is a leader who will help to build an increasingly distinctive profile that reflects the quality of teaching and learning on the campus; the accomplishments of its students, faculty, and alumni; and the ongoing effort to strengthen and adapt creatively the value of the liberal arts in the 21st century.

"The Search Committee met on Tuesday, September 24, and selected a small number of candidates who are being invited to participate in confidential preliminary interviews with the Committee in mid-October."

"We are happy to report that the search for the next Albion president is progressing very well and remains on schedule," Presidential Search Committee Chair Mark Newell, '77, wrote in a memo to the Albion College community. "The closing date for applications has now passed and we are moving forward. ... We are extremely pleased with the quality of the candidate pool."

Presidential Search Committee Chair Mark Newell, '77, sent a July 10 memo to the Albion College community. "The Committee met on Tuesday, July 9, to review our early progress and to discuss our schedule for the next several weeks and for the fall. We began the review of application documents and we discussed evaluation parameters that will help us focus on the desired attributes of Albion’s next president."
