Job Description:

Albion College welcomes applications for a full time Administrative Secretary for the Development Office. The Administrative Secretary for Development will support meaningful engagement and personalized philanthropy through Institutional Advancement. S/he will provide administrative and technical support to alumni, parent, and friend activities including mailings, reservations, name tags, running reports, merges, etc. This is a full-time, 12-month position, Typically 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8- 5. Some nights and weekend work is required.  Position is represented by the Teamsters.$14.26/hour. Excellent benefits.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintains files and databases.
  • Serves as primary contact for online directory and alumni information requests.
  • Handles purchasing and accounting functions, including generation of purchase requisitions, recording of expenditures, and reconciliation of P-cards.
  • Assists with projects as assigned, related to alumni relations, parent relations, and annual giving.

Qualifications Include:

  • 2-3 years previous secretarial experience required.
  • H.S. diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Previous work experience in higher education is preferred.
  • Technology skills, e.g., proficiency in databases (Banner preferred) word processing, spreadsheets, and document scanning.
  • Organizational and analytical skills e.g., perform multiple and complex demands quickly with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently and self-directed.
