Servers: What goes where and how do I get space?

There are three primary web servers at Albion College. The first is referred to as the WWW Server, and it is used as the Albion College web site. This web server houses the Admissions web site, departmental and business web sites, among many others. If your web site has the "purple swoosh" header graphic, then it's most likely a part of the main college web site.

The People server is personal web space for students, faculty, and staff. Students automatically receive personal web space upon entering Albion College, and it is on the People server where students create their digital portfolios. Faculty and staff may also request web space on the People server by filling out this form.

The Courses server is web space allotted to faculty for use as a supplement to courses. Faculty may post a syllabus, lecture materials, or even facilitate student interaction beyond the classroom with a Course Web. Faculty can request a course web by filling out the Course Web Request Form.
