Burning a Website onto CD

There are many reasons to burn a website onto a CD. You could be a student leaving campus and desiring to take your digital portfolio with, wanting to send a copy of your web work to graduate schools or jobs or just wanting to be able to work with your website wherever you are. This process will help in any of these situations. This procedure works for personal web space, digital portfolios or student web sites that you have access too. Any website run by the Albion College server will not be possible to run without server access.

Step 1: Create a folder on your local drive or Desk top. Name it so that you will be able to find it again. For example: Digital Portfolio.

Step 2: Open your web page within Front page.

Step 3: Open File within Front page and scroll down to Publish Web and select it

Step 4: A Pop-Up window will ask for the publish destination. Use the Browse button to find the folder you created at the beginning of this exercise. Click OK. Another window will pop up, and you need to select Publish.

Step 5: After closing out of Front page locate your folder you created. Right click with you mouse over the folder. Scroll down and to Send to and select DVD/CD-RW Drive (D:).
